This Titer Plate Shaker has a rocking platform that is designed to shake and rotate up to four 96-well titer plates. The solid-state speed control regulates shaking from 40 to 1100rpm in a 0.12 (0.3cm) vortexing orbit for thorough mixing. The shaking platform has 0.36 (0.9cm) sides and finger slots for easy titer plate removal. Plate-retaining springs can be removed to allow shaking of other types of glassware. Built-in timer can be set for continuous operation or timed cycles of up to five minutes. Unit shuts off automatically at end of cycle. The independent start switch allows shaker to be activated at preset speed and time for test repeatability. High Capacity Continuous Operation Shakers
The Orbit 1900 is a large shaker designed for continuous duty and heavy loads. Its solid construction and counter balanced drive system provide vibration free operation.
Operation of the shaker can be timed or continuous, while the speed is variable. Both time and speed are set digitally. Setting parameters is easy with the analog knob. Values are shown on the large, three digit display. Three platforms are available to accommodate a variety of different sizes of containers and vials on the Orbit 1900 Shaker. The flat platform is useful for shaking trays, plates, boxes and other containers. A nonslip mat on the platform surface keeps items in place. Flasks are accommodated on the flask platform through the use of clamps (sold separately). Universal platform can be used with various size flasks, bottles and odd shaped vessels. Custom manufactured platforms/clamps are available. Suitable for use in an incubator or cold room, the Orbit 1900 Shaker fits easily inside Labnet's High Performance 611 Series Incubators.
Digital Lab Shaker for Shaking and Mixing Applications
Four platform configurations allow the Orbit 1000 Digital Shaker to meet a variety of shaking and mixing applications. Single and double flat platforms hold trays, plates and dishes. The double platform allows for expansion of the shaker capacity without increasing the footprint. The universal platform has spring loaded bars that adjust to fit flasks, bottles, tube racks and odd shaped containers. Pre-drilled to hold Erlenmeyer clamps (clamps sold separately), the flask platform is ideal for mixing and growing cultures. Platforms are removable and interchangeable.
At the heart of the Orbit 1000 are a powerful brushless motor and counter balanced shaker mechanism that provide smooth operation and years of trouble-free use. Speed and time are set with an analog knob, while the set and current values are displayed digitally. Speed is adjustable over a broad range to allow for applications such as staining and destaining gels, growth of bacterial cultures and hybridization. The Orbit 1000 Digital Shaker is safe for use in temperature controlled environments. Its small footprint and low profile make it ideal for use in incubators. Platforms sold separately.
The small MaxQ 2000 and the larger MaxQ 3000 Open-Air Platform Shakers each employ a triple eccentric drive that handles heavier loads, provides smooth, uniform agitation of full or unbalanced loads, even at high speeds, and enables 24-hour operation. Each will operate in environmental temperatures of 32° to 104°F (0° to 40°C) and 20% to 80% relative humidity (noncondensing), making them ideal for use in incubators, warm rooms, environmental chambers and refrigerators. Leveling feet increase stability at high load-speed combinations. Each model is available with either an analog or a digital operating system.
Analog Operating System: comes with a DC motor and variable speed control, from 40 to 400rpm. Integrated tachometer displays speed in rpm, assuring accurate setting. Rotary dial speed control includes metal locking tab that prevents accidental change in speed. Shaker runs in continuous mode, or set timer from 1 to 60 minutes for time studies.
Digital Operating System: comes with a solid-state DC brushless motor, variable speed control from 15 to 500rpm, and continuous or timed operation from 0.1 hour up to 99.9 hours, or 0.1 minute to 99.9 minutes. Displayed time counts down during timed operation and up during continuous operation. If unit operates at more than ±10% of set speed, or in the event of an unbalanced load, audible/visual alarms go off and platform stops, preventing shaker from walking. When speed must be verified or protocols standardized, user can calibrate speed using digital handheld tachometer. Soft-start feature helps prevent sudden starts and stops, eliminating splashing of vessel contents. During power failure, set point retention retains operating parameters. Unit restarts automatically when power is restored. RS232 interface allows remote monitoring of speed and time.
